About WMIT
WMIT started with a simple frustration: scrolling through TikTok, seeing an incredible movie clip, and having absolutely no idea what it was from.
No title in the caption. No credits in the comments. Just a scene that looked amazing — and no way to find out what you were looking at. Sound familiar?
That's why I built WMIT. I wanted a "Shazam for Movies" — something where you could just screenshot a scene, share a clip, or even describe what you remember, and get an instant answer.
What started as a personal project turned into something bigger. The AI behind WMIT uses a proprietary multi-layer pipeline that goes way beyond simple image matching. It recognizes actors, cross-references their filmographies, analyzes visual context, and combines multiple signals to identify what you're watching — often in just a few seconds.
WMIT is available as a mobile app for iOS and Android, a Chrome extension for identifying movies while you browse, and now as a web app right here. Your scan history, saved lists, and account sync across all platforms.
The project is built and maintained in Germany by P² Ventures UG. If you have feedback, ideas, or just want to say hi: hi@wmit.app
